Dear Students and Parents,

Thank you for your interest in studying with me, I’m looking forward to working with you. The purpose of this letter is to explain the policies and expectations of my lesson studio, and to hopefully address any questions or concerns you might have.

Most students take a 30 minute weekly lesson. I pick instruction books and materials based on the individual student’s needs, therefore I will decide on which books fit the student best after the first lesson.

Rates for lessons are $40 per half hour. I require tuition to be pre-paid, one calendar month at a time. Cash or check are the only methods of payment I accept. At the first lesson of the month, tuition for that month’s lessons is due.

24-hour notice is required to reschedule/cancel a lesson. If I do not receive 24-hour notice, the lesson is forfeit and will not be rescheduled, credited, or refunded. In the unlikely chance I have to cancel or there is a weather emergency you will be credited that lesson payment on the next month’s tuition.

If a student does not attend lessons for 3 weeks in a row, they may forfeit the lesson time slot. While students are always welcome to return, the original slot in my studio may not be available. If any slots are available, we can look for a new time.

I ask that students cancel their lesson if they have any type of cold symptoms or illness. If your child is sick, I will credit that lesson to the next month. It is very challenging to play the trumpet with any sort of cough, headache, or sore throat and lessons are not as productive when this happens. This policy is also to protect me from needing to take time off teaching all of my students.
