Sing of Tomorrow
Grade 4
approx. 6.5 minutes
Commissioned by the City of Fairfax Band Association for the City of Fairfax Band. Dr. Dereck Scott, Director
Program Note
Charles Spurgeon once said, βIs there nothing to sing about today? Then borrow a song from tomorrow; sing of what is yet to be. Is this world dreary? Then think of the next.β
Sing of Tomorrow is a reflection on that invitation to hope. The piece imagines a tomorrow bright enough to give strength for today. It invites us to sing beyond what is seen, toward what is yet to be.
