Sing of Tomorrow
Grade 4
approx. 6.5 minutes

Commissioned by the City of Fairfax Band Association for the City of Fairfax Band. Dr. Dereck Scott, Director

Program Note

Charles Spurgeon once said, β€œIs there nothing to sing about today? Then borrow a song from tomorrow; sing of what is yet to be. Is this world dreary? Then think of the next.”

Sing of Tomorrow is a reflection on that invitation to hope. The piece imagines a tomorrow bright enough to give strength for today. It invites us to sing beyond what is seen, toward what is yet to be.
